Blog - 08/20/2026 | I was written about in The Wire

A lot of change really fast, got done moving and had to take some time to settle. Things have been chaotic as of late, but I finally found the time to write this out and give some updates. I am not gonna break this blog into sections or anything, but you probably noticed some website updates. The reviews tab was changed to Stuff and I expanded it's scope, the about page was changed for the third time. Wasn't really sure whether to keep it short and to the point or deflect and be self depricating. The question always was, how do I explain myself when I really don't want to.

But as usual I found a way, I always seem to. As I continue to create, I realize I obssess with one type of song for a little bit and move on to the next obssession. Like, it's only been a year and I am already working on my fifth album, that's insane. Speaking of which, that is also on pause till I get my equipment sorted. But I do got some fantastic news as far as reviews go, I am going to be trying something new.

Since I don't live in some boring, dead, isolated shithole where the closest thing to a music scene is some drunk guy at a bar with an acoustic bitching about his ex-wife. I can finally explore local bands and stuff! I did go to a show hosted by AlleyCats DIY, a local booker/showrunner out of Torrington, CT. They had some cool bands there, {Edit 9/07/2026: Correction, thought Next Day Delivery was from MA, but their are actually from Fairfield, CT. Only Tripwire was from MA. Next Day Delivery, TripWire (from MA), and Alone with Everyone. All of them played some fantastic sets, when I finally figure things out I will surely be writing about said live shows. But I want to see a few more first, and am having a hiccup with transport. So as soon as I figure that out, expect to see my talk about my experienes with them. In the meantime however, I may go over a couple albums from them.

Now the part you were probably most curious about, yeah, I was written about in The Wire. Back when I said fuck it and started this project solo, I ordered 6 copies of my first album on vinyl lathe cuts and sent one to Feeding Tube. Apparently, Byron Coley liked it and wrote about it in the January/Febuary 2026 double issue 503/504, it is on page 102. I found this out by complete accident last week, probably the biggest form of validation any musical artist can recieve. Even better, it was about the work I think is my worst. And in response to Byron's hope for a bandcamp, I did create one. It's more of a pay what you want kind of thing though, whenever I get the money to order more records or maybe even tapes. Those are the only things that would cost money, but there's no real demand for it and I really don't want to pitch to a label for distribution. I am kinda just doing my own thing right now.

Maybe after I get sorted and look into the local bands and stuff, I may try to bring this project live. But that might take awhile, it defintely is a goal of mine. Who knows, I don't, just some dude rambling into the interwebs. Anyhow that's all I really got for updates, next update you see will be another song for my in-progress album or a review. Whichever comes first.
